Field boundaries, also known as shapefiles, can be imported from 3rd party software platforms into Cropwise Financials to greatly speed up the process of establishing the Cropwise Financials Organization's Farm Field Tree.
Within Cropwise Financials, navigate to Properties and select + Create Fields.
Select Upload field files.
Select the option to Click or drag file to this area to upload.
Find and select the zipped folder containing the shapefiles, and then select Open.
If the folder is not zipped, left click the folder that contains the exported shapefiles to select it. Next, right click the folder and navigate to Send to > Compressed (zipped) folder to zip this folder.
Next, Select all available fields and then select the Import button. An Import Properties loading screen will appear. Please note that loading time will vary depending on the number of fields that are being imported.
If the import was successful, then the Farm Field Tree will be available within the Cropwise Financials Organization.
If there are any issues importing field boundaries, the failed shapes will be presented with the option to correct the shape, try to import again, or delete from the list. In many cases if a field fails to import it is due to a "bowtie" (self-intersection) or error in the field boundary. Selecting the Pencil tool next to the failed shape will present the shape on the map to make the correction and then save.
