Cropwise Financials offers a variety of drawing and import tools to manually build out a Farm Field Tree. If an existing Farm Field tree needs to be imported instead, click here to view a step-by-step guide for this process.
To begin adding fields, navigate to the Properties menu, select + New Property, and select the Field button.
Next, select Draw your fields.
Select an existing Farm or create a new Farm as needed. Once the Farm is identified, enter the new Field Name.
Next, use the mouse to navigate and zoom within the map to discover the field. Note that a search icon is available in the lower-right corner to search for a location using a Zip Code, Address or Latitude/ Longitude. Or zoom to your current location using the target icon.
CLU and SAT options in the upper-left corner can be toggled on to select an existing boundary. Note that the availability of these boundaries can vary from state to state. Click which CLU or SAT boundary you would like to identify as the field boundary.
Select Import to import an existing shapefile for the new field, and then select Click or drag file to this area to upload a zipped folder that contains the shapefile.
Check the desired field and then select Import.
Additional drawing tools are available such as the Draw Polygon tool. With this tool activated, click around the perimeter of the field to establish unique boundary points. Double click the last point to complete the field boundary.
The Draw Pivot tool will identify a pivot by navigating to the center of the pivot, left click and hold the mouse until the diameter of the pivot has reached the end of the pivot. Once the pivot is established, individual boundary points can be adjusted to remove road and field overlaps, for example.
The Split Tool creates a division across a field boundary by a straight or multi-point line. The division line must cross the boundary of the field to create the split.
Once a field boundary is identified with any drawing tool, a Reported Area can be entered if the Boundary Area does not closely represent the true acreage of the field. Next, select the A) Save Field button to finish creating the new field and return to the Properties menu. Selecting the drop-down arrow next to Save Field contains options to B) Save and draw a new field, or C) Save and add a crop zone.
