Crop seasons are containers of farms and fields with crop assignments within a calendar year, allowing for ease of data analysis, record keeping organization and report generation.
Crop seasons can also be created when assigning crops as viewed within this article: Assigning a Crop Zone to a Field
Navigate to the Crop Seasons menu to view any existing Active or Inactive Seasons. To create a new Crop Season from this page versus the crop assignment method listed above, click the + Create Season button.
When creating a new crop season, first identify its name. It is recommended to name the crop season by the calendar year, such as 2023 or 2024, for example. This will allow for all crops grown within the calendar year to be lumped into a singular crop season.
For operations that include double cropping, spring and/or fall crops, the crop season can instead represent these specific crop plantings. Examples include, but not limited to:
- 2024 Spring Snap Beans and 2024 Fall Snap Beans
- 2024 Wheat and 2024 Soybeans
Once the Crop Season Name is identified, capture the Crop Season Dates for the designated crop season which will also populate the Duration of the Crop Season in days. Then save the new crop season.
The new Crop Season will now be listed either in the Active or Inactive Seasons list. If today's date falls within any crop season's date range, it will be considered as Active. If today's date falls outside any crop season's date range, it will be considered Inactive.
Select the ... button for any existing season to View, Edit, or Delete the season.
