The Cropwise Financials app has a built in Weather and Rain Gauge feature to help with making decisions on an operation. The Weather feature can be used to view weather by Current Location, a set Zip Code, or on a specific Field. Weather information includes Rainfall, Humidity, Wind Speed, Temperature, and Growing Degree Days.
On the Dashboard in the Cropwise Financials mobile app, basic weather information and rain gauge details can be viewed. To see more details, select on the Weather or Rain Gauge blocks or the Weather tab in the menu at the bottom.
Within Weather, Current Location is preset if Location Services are allowed in the settings. Selecting the pin drop will allow for a specific zip code to be set.
Select the Today drop down to view 10 different preset date ranges for historical and forecasted weather information. Using the Calendar dates, set a specific From and To date to view weather details. This can be used to view a range such as planting date to harvest.
After setting the location and date, the chart will display the hourly or daily information for Rainfall, Humidity, Wind Speed or Temperature. Toggle between any of these options to view the details or scroll the chart side to side to see more hours or days.
Included with viewing weather information is Growing Degree Days, also known as Growing Degree Units. This is displayed for the same date range selected at the top of the page. The setting can be adjusted based on the crop by scrolling the target temperature wheel left or right.
Creating Rain Gauges in the app is a great way to track rain fall for a specific location. Once a pin is set the app will start to track all rainfall for that geo referenced location. The rain gauge will report the amount of rain from the date created until it is emptied. They can also be favorited by selecting the heart icon so they will appear at the top of the list.
Select the Green Plus Sign to create a new rain gauge. Zoom in on the map to the desired location. Push and hold for one second to set the location of the pin. Once set, a prompt to set the name will appear, then select the Create button in the upper right. It will now start tracking rainfall and display within the app.
