Crop Plans can be used in Cropwise Financials to build out cost estimates, product usage, and yield projections. Once completed they can be printed or shared with a banker, retailer, or for management review. They can also be used to convert all or portions of the plan into a Recommendation or Task.
Getting started creating a plan, it is important to have the basics set up first by adding your Farm Field Tree and assigning a crop to the fields. Also be sure to set up the Crop Season for the year or specific crop the plan is for.
To create a Plan, navigate to the 1) Production menu and 2) click Plans within the sub-menu. Then 3) select + Create Plan.
There are three sections to creating a Plan: Details, Properties, and Products. Navigate through each of these three tabs to complete the information.
Within Details, enter the required information of Plan Name, Planned Area, and Crop. Entering Fixed Cost is optional but can be used to help project the total cost for growing a crop. Enter either the Total cost for the crop or the Per Acre cost. Projected Revenue is another optional field calculated by entering estimate yield per acre and projected sale price.
To get a more accurate acre count, Fields can be assigned to the plan to calculate the acres on the Properties tab, or it can be estimated by entering the acres in the Planned Area.
After completing Details, navigate to the Properties tab. The Farm Field Tree list can be sorted by Property or by Crop. The Total Applied Area or Coverage % can be adjusted for all of the fields or by individual field.
On the Products tab, start by typing a product name in the search box. Once the results populate, select the desired product by selecting the Green Plus sign. If specific products can not be found by searching, a custom product can be created using the + Create Custom button.
A box will appear after selecting the Green Plus sign to enter the rate, unit and any other optional details.
After all the products are added to the plan, select the Save option in the upper right corner.
After saving the Plan, select the More Options icon to View, Edit, add Tags, Duplicate, Convert to Task or Recommendation, Share or Print, or Delete the Plan.
