Cropwise Protector users can capture additional crop information and field observations within the Cropwise Protector Scouting App. Growth stages are observations that can be captured but are entered separately from the methodology scouting points located in the Scout tile.
To capture Growth Stages, the user first must be within the field boundary or drop a scouting point by forcing their location. Instructions on how to force a location can be found Here.
Once the users geo location or forced location are within the field boundary, select the green Growth stage tile located at the bottom of the screen.
After selecting the Growth stage tile, a page containing growth stages available to select will open. The growth stages available are dependent on the crop that is assigned to the field where the users location is registered. (whether it is a true geo location or a forced location). The user is able to scroll through the growth stage list and select the growth stage they observe.
After selecting the growth stage, the user has several options to view and enter additional information. To view a description, information, and a closer image of the growth stage, click the INFO icon in the bottom left corner of the banner located at the top of the screen.
After clicking on the INFO icon, a page will open and a description of the growth stage will be visible. The image example of the growth stage can be viewed even closer if needed by clicking on the photo icon in the lower left corner of the photo banner at the top of the screen.
When finished viewing the growth stage description, click the back arrow in the top left corner of the screen to return to the growth stage information page. From this information page, users are able to select the day that the growth stage was observed. This data field defaults to say "Today", but if the growth stage was observed on a different day, the observation day can be backdated by selecting the desired date from the calendar. When clicking on the day selection dropdown, a calendar will appear where the growth stage observation day can be backdated. Select the desired day and then click Save located in the bottom right corner of the screen.
Notes can be captured by clicking within the notes section of the page and typing out the notes the user would like to include. Once the cursor is active in the notes section, type out the note and click the green Save button. After capturing the observation day and any notes, Click the green Register stage button located at the bottom of the screen.
After the stage is registered, the user will be brought back to the Cropwise Protector map screen. There will be a growth stage icon pin dropped on the location where the growth stage was captured and a pop up message will appear at the bottom of the screen notifying the user that the growth stage was saved successfully.
There will be a red dot visible on the sync button in the upper right corner of the screen. This indicates that new data has been entered and is needing to be synced in order for the data to be visible on the Cropwise Protector web portal or the Cropwise Protector Analytics iOS app.
