When working within the Cropwise Protector Scouting app, users have the ability to force their geo location in order to drop a scouting point in a field without physically being within the field boundary.
Upon opening the Protector Scouting app and entering a property, a users geo location will be visible on the map. To force a location, first select the "Fields" button. This button looks like a folded map and is the top circle icon in the grouping of icons on the right side of the screen.
After selecting the "Fields" button, the map will navigate to the center of the map across all the mapped field boundaries for that property.
The user can expand the map or zoom in to the field boundary they wish to drop a scouting point. To zoom in to a field boundary, use fingertips in an reverse pinching motion against the devices screen. To move the map left, right, up, or down, drag a finger against the screen in the direction the map needs to be moved. Once zoomed in on a field, click the "Force Location" button, which is the circle and crosshairs icon located on the bottom left of the screen.
A pop up message will appear after selecting "Force Location" asking the user if they wish to change their location manually. Select the green Confirm button.
A forced location point will then be dropped on the center of the screen. To move the scouting point, long press on the point and then move it to a new area of the field to complete a scouting record.
Once the scouting point is placed where the user would like to complete a record, the user can proceed by entering the data they prefer. (Sample problem, Growth stage, Annotation, ect...)
