After scouting fields in the Cropwise Protector Scouting app, there is functionality available to enable reports to be sent via text message to recipients determined by the user.
**It's important to note that there are two mobile apps for Cropwise Protector. Protector Scouting is a green icon and used to enter data, while Protector mobile is a blue icon and used for data review and enabling reports. The Cropwise Protector Mobile App icon is pictured below.
To enable SMS reporting, first open the Cropwise Protector mobile app and enter the organization you are wanting to enable the reports for.
After entering the organization, select a farm from the farm list.
Once the app opens to the main farm menu page where the map of fields is visible, navigate the the lower-right corner of the screen and click on the Menu button.
Once the menu opens, scroll down the menu list and click on the option that says SMS reporting.
Upon opening the SMS reporting page, the user will see there contact list. This is the list of people who have been invited to receive SMS reports from this user. When adding the first contact, the list will appear blank. The list will populate as the user adds contacts.
To add a contact, click the green +Add Contacts button at the bottom of the screen.
The user will then be prompted to enter the recipient's name and telephone number. After entering the required information, click the green Next button at the bottom of the screen.
Now, the user will select which farms and fields they would like the recipient to receive scouting reports for. Select the farms or fields from the list by clicking in the corresponding check boxed and complete this process by clicking the green Finish button at the bottom of the screen.
After clicking Finish, the user will be brought back to the contacts page where the contact that was just added is visible in the list. The recipient will receive a text message asking them to "Opt In" to receiving SMS reports. If the recipient replies with a "Y", they will then begin receiving SMS reports of what was scouted on the selected fields, and will then show as "opted in" in the contact list.
Users can edit the contact information or the reports they recieve by clicking on the name in the list and making the desired changes.
